BEDFORD – The North Lawrence Community Schools board hosted a public hearing on Thursday to discuss the terms of the contractual agreement that will be offered to the next candidate to be the district’s superintendent.
At this time, no candidate has been disclosed by NLCS for the role. The hearing was held to allow members of the public to have an opportunity to comment on the potential terms of the deal.
The proposed contract is a three-year agreement from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026. The deal proposes an annual salary for the next NLCS Superintendent of $130,000 for 260 work days each year.
Additionally, the deal includes figures for health insurance, a cell phone, moving costs and more.
Note: These projections assume insurance rates remain constant
- Life Insurance: $2,154 in year one, $2,218 in year two, $2,284 in year three
- Health Insurance: $14,180 in year one, $14,605 in year two, $15,043 in year three
- Teacher Retirement: $3,900 each year
- 401 or 403: $3,900 each year
- Long Term Disability: $400 in year one, $412 in year two, $425 in year three
- Vehicle: $7,200 each year
- Moving Expenses: $3,000 in year one only
- Cell Phone: $1,200 each year
- Total Corporation Benefit Cost: $43,734 in year one, $41,235 in year two, $42,752
