Wilbur Norman Williams, 77, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born June 28, 1945, in Mitchell, he was the son of William Lee and Ethel Marie (Taylor) Williams.
Wilbur was a 1963 graduate of Mitchell High School. He worked as a journeyman welder for Otis Elevator. Wilbur was a member of the Paoli Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed helping people in the community. Wilbur traveled all over the country, attended Silver Sneakers, and enjoyed hanging out at Mcdonald’s.
Surviving are his son, Wilbur Brent (Lisa) Williams of Bloomington; grandson, Aaron B. Williams; brother, Bob Williams of Mitchell; and companion, Frances Howard.
His parents; son, William K. Williams; and siblings, Harold Lee Williams, William Estel “Willie” Williams, Kay Lindsey, and Patty Johnson, preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Richard Sallee officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
