Nicole Stout announces her candidacy for Oolitic Clerk-Treasurer

OOLITIC – Nicole Stout is announcing her candidacy for Oolitic Clerk-Treasurer.

Stout hopes to be elected and become an integral part of making the Town of Oolitic and its residents thrive.

Nicole Stout

I have chosen the clerk-treasurer position as I have always had a passion for helping others and with my skills along with being eager to learn. I feel I would become a very successful addition. I believe strong communication, organization, and responsibility are a few of the most important traits to have in a position of this nature. I will work for the residents of Oolitic to better our little town.

I have lived in Lawrence County my entire life. Prior to moving to Oolitic, my family and I owned a home in Mitchell. While I love what country life has to offer, I have always dreamed of having a home in a small town and Oolitic has become my home. I have lived in Oolitic since 2020, where we intend on laying roots for years to come. It is my hope that I can help our little town flourish and prosper while maintaining the small-town environment I have come to love.

I met Toby, my husband in 2000 and we were married in 2004. We have two amazing boys who I am so very proud of. I consider myself to be very fortunate for all the support they give me.

I am a 2000 graduate of the Bedford North Lawrence high school and during that time I became certified as a nursing assistant in the state of Indiana. I continued in that field for 18 years. During that time I had the opportunity to grow and held the position of supply and schedule coordinator.

In 2008 my husband and I established Stouts Lawn Care, LLC, and continued to grow the business until 2019 at which time our oldest son took over the family business which continues to thrive.

In 2019 I accepted an administrative position for a local towing company where I currently play an integral role in continuing its success. My duties include but are not limited to, performing accounting and clerical work involved in collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations along with other related accounting functions. I also maintained records, completed audits, obtain accounts, and provided human resources along with any other tasks that need to be taken care of for the business to thrive. A large part of my role is maintaining good communication with my staff, owners, accounts, and most importantly our customers.

Being able to multi-task and stay organized is required in my position, while managing all the managerial duties in a timely manner. I also am the primary dispatcher making sure people get the help they need in a timely fashion.

I would like to close by saying thank you to everyone who continues to give me support along this journey. It is with high hopes I am elected as the next Oolitic Clerk-Treasurer. It would be such a privilege to serve Oolitic and its residents.
