LINTON – It was announced during the annual IHSAA Pairings Show that Mitchell High School would begin their push to reclaim the Class 2A Sectional 47 championship, last won by the Bluejackets in the 2020-21 season, against Linton-Stockton.
The two teams faced off early in the season on April 3, where the Bluejackets defeated the Miners 3-1.
Since then, Linton-Stockton has held a 6-5 record, compared to Mitchell’s 9-4.
The games will be hosted at Linton-Stockton, with the winner between the two teams advancing to face North Knox (3-9). On the other side of the bracket, Sullivan (13-2) takes on South Knox (5-7), with the winner moving on to go against Eastern Greene in the second round (4-11).
