BARTHOLOMEW CO. – A Columbus woman was arrested on drug charges after police received a complaint about a possibly impaired driver Thursday night.
According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, deputies found the reported vehicle and witnessed the driver make several traffic violations. After pulling the vehicle over, a police canine alerted deputies to possible drugs in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, police found more than 10 grams of methamphetamine. The driver, 32-year-old Briana McFarland, of Columbus, also admitted she was carrying more than 10 grams of fentanyl.
She was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing and possession of meth and fentanyl, unlawful possession syringe, and drug paraphernalia.
