MITCHELL – No. 4 ranked Mitchell High School (14-2) will begin their push towards the 2A Sectional 47 championship this year with a matchup against South Knox (13-2) at Mitchell’s newly renovated Gary Seitzinger Field.
With both teams sitting with records of double-digit wins and just two losses, they have the best win-loss records in the group to this point in the season.
The winner of this game will advance to compete against the winner of a matchup between North Knox (2-10) and Linton-Stockton (8-7), who Mitchell holds a victory over after a 2-1 win on April 3.
On the other side of the bracket are Eastern Greene (7-5), who the Bluejackets defeated earlier this season 14-0 on April 10 and Sullivan (6-10).
Last season, Mitchell made it to the sectional finals, beating Eastern Greene before falling in the championship game to Linton-Stockton by a score of 8-7.
