Gaylord H. Lanham Jr., 83, of Bedford, departed this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Born on September 11, 1939, and raised in Felicity, Ohio, Gayle enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, and caring for his dog, Macey. In his last days, nothing brought a smile to his face like visits from his great-granddaughter, Willow.
A 1957 graduate of Felicity-Franklin High School and a welder by trade, Gayle later owned and operated Bee Vacuum Sales & Service in Maysville, Kentucky until his retirement. He received Jesus Christ as his Savior in January 1977 and enjoyed studying the Word of God, leading Bible studies for senior citizens and inmates of a maximum security prison in Tennessee.
Gayle was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Bonnie Jean (Souder), parents, Gaylord Sr. and Helen Lanham, brother, James Lanham, and granddaughter, Ashlie Briana Lanham.
Survivors include his son, Robert (Taunya) of Bedford; daughter, Karen Clark of Astor, Florida; granddaughters Whitnie Waltz (Jacob) of Clifford, Indiana, Kelsie Fitzpatrick of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Desiree Clark of Iowa City, Iowa; great-grandson Hudson Dale Waltz and great-granddaughter Willow Everly Waltz of Clifford.
The family would like to acknowledge the nurses and aides of Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford for the heartfelt care they provided Gayle during the last weeks of his life.
In accordance with Gayle’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation was chosen and has been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, Indiana.
