INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Office of Technology earned two distinctions in the StateScoop 50 awards, with (IOT) Chief Information Security Officer Hemant Jain and the State Earn and Learn (SEAL) IT Program each being recognized.
Jain earned acclaim with a State Leadership Award, which is given annually to the most innovative and forward-thinking individuals in the IT industry. He has been at the forefront of IOT’s security efforts and its work with local government and is leading Indiana’s Whole-Of-State cybersecurity strategy.
IOT’s nationally recognized State Earn and Learn (SEAL) IT Program is an honoree in the State IT Innovation category – the cutting-edge state IT approach to cross-agency or intra-agency technology that embraces innovation.
The program tripled in size since 2022 – going from 17 associates to 51, and its ‘graduates’ increased from two to 22. The SEAL program now supports three other state agencies besides IOT.
The SEAL IT Program is a work-based learning program with on-the-job paid training in government IT that identifies, hires, and trains citizens from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
StateScoop Magazine distributes awards annually to individuals and programs significantly contributing to the government IT industry.
