BEDFORD – Harley Tanksley a senior at Bedford North Lawrence High School, has been named the Genius Jock for the month of May presented by the attorneys at Pittman Law firm, Greg Pittman and Michelle Woodward.
The daughter of Ty and Kathy Tanksley, Harley excels both on and off the field, competing across two sports, volleyball for four years and three years on the Unified Track & Field team where she was a member of the 2022 State Championship team.
During her time at BNL, Harley was a member of the Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) Champions Together, Beta Club, National Honor Society, Pep Club, and Latin Club.
She also volunteers for Verizon Backpack Distribution, is a Freshmen Orientation guide, and spreads holiday cheer doing Christmas Boxes at First Baptist Mitchell.
She does all this while maintaining a GPA of 3.567.
Harley is also the recipient of the Wilcox Scholarship. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Louisville.
