MITCHELL – During Monday’s meeting of the Mitchell Community Schools board, it was announced that all MCS students would receive free breakfast and lunch meals starting in the upcoming school year.
“All of our buildings, all of our kids will receive free breakfast and lunch. Hatfield all the way up to high school. Just a reminder, that doesn’t mean just free and reduced, that is all kids, free breakfast and lunch,” said Mitchell superintendent Brent Comer.
Comer thanked MCS Food Services Director Alda McIntosh for her efforts in helping the district obtain free meals for all students, saying she played a key role.
“I would be remiss if I didn’t say thank you to Ms. McIntosh. She has worked very, very hard to make sure we qualify,” he said.
