BEDFORD – This month’s program at 6 p.m. on May 23 at the Community Garden on 416 H Street features a “how-to” program on Backyard Composting.
Heidi Potter, Extension Educator, and local farmer presents the program and will discuss different composting options for homeowners who may have limited space. For those who have more space, she has additional ideas to accommodate larger operations.
Potter will also talk about some of the benefits of composting and recommendations she has as well as warnings of things to avoid.
The presentation will be held at the Community Garden so she can show on-site examples of different types of composting. A shelter house is on site for seating and shade but bring a chair if you prefer.
Please RSVP for the program by May 22 so the Park Department knows how many people to expect by calling 812-275-5692 or emailing gdorsett@bedford.in.us.
Mark your calendars for the June program on June 27. This program is entitled “Take a Stroll Through History” and will be a walking tour of the Northside Historic District.
Participants will meet in the Episcopal Church Parking lot at 1219 14th Street. The hike will be led by Lawrence County Historians Marla Jones and Teena Ligman.
