GALENA – Bedford North Lawrence’s Brayden Patterson finished second in the high jump as the Stars settled into a tie for sixth in the Hoosier Hills Conference meet during boys high school track action on Thursday.
The Stars totaled 32 points, a score matched by Columbus East. Floyd Central won the team title with 186 points.
Patterson set a new personal best as he cleared 6-6 on the second attempt. Floyd Central’s Kaden Stewart won the event when he cleared 6-8 on his final attempt.
Other top finishers for the Stars included Jimmy Farmer (third in the discus at 130-3), Jerett Gilbert (fourth in the 800 meter run in 2:06.27), Frank Decker (fourth in the pole vault at 11-0), Jonah Bailey (fifth in the 3200 in 10:25.99), and Carter Kimmel (sixth in the shot put at 42-3).
BNL’s girls team will compete in the IHSAA sectional at Seymour on Tuesday.
