FRANKLIN – Bedford North Lawrence finished 10th in the power-packed field of 18 teams during the Franklin Invitational at The Legends on Saturday.
The Stars, with Jett Jones carding a 3-over 75, posted 326. No.9 Center Grove won the team title with a score of 300, followed by No.2 Westfield (302), Faith Christian (304) and No.8 Carmel (308).
Jones posted a birdie on the par-5 first hole and an eagle on the par-5 15th to offset two double bogeys. He finished tied for 10th in the field. Colton Staggs also had an eagle on the 15th en route to a 78.
“We played well today,” BNL coach Jeff Hein said. “Last year we were in the 360s, so a 326 was much improved, especially without Tyler Bellush, who missed again with an illness. Jett and Colton played solid rounds and the other three were all able to keep it under 90.”
Houston Corbin (85) and Drew McKee (88) capped the BNL scoring.
Borden’s A.J. Agnew was the individual medalist with a sensational round of 6-under 66 that included eight birdies.
BNL will compete in the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament on May 22 at Otter Creek.
