BLOOMINGTON – Monroe County Community School Corporation & Community Kitchen will collaborate to ensure free healthy meals for children while school is out for the summer.
Beginning Monday, May 22, 2023, through Tuesday, August 1, 2023, MCCSC and the Community Kitchen will provide meals to youth 18 and under at 13 locations.
Community Kitchen will distribute free lunch to kids (18 & under) at the following locations and times:
Route 1 (Monday – Friday)
- Dorothy Apartments – 10:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. (Near Office)
- Southcrest Estates – 10:55 a.m. until 11:10 a.m. (Near Mailboxes)
- Henderson Court Apartments -11:20 a.m. until 11:35 a.m. (Playground)
- Walnut Woods – 11:40 a.m. until 11:55 a.m. (Across from Playground)
- Trailview – 12:10 p.m. until 12:25 p.m. (Near Circle)
- The Reserve at Chandler’s Glen – 12:35 p.m. from 12:50 p.m.(Picnic Shelter)
- Arlington Valley Mobile Home Park – 12:55 p.m. until 1:10 p.m. (Behind Office)
Route 2 (Monday – Friday)
- Crestmont Community (Illinois Court) – 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (Playground)
- Highland Park Elementary – 11:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. (Playground)
- Limestone Crossing – 12:00 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. (Playground)
- Country View Apartments – 12:45 p.m. until 1:15 p.m.(Playground)
MCCSC locations:
MCCSC will serve free breakfast and lunch to kids (18 & under) at the following locations
Templeton Elementary Cafeteria (Monday – Thursday)
Enter at Door 13 – From June 5, 2023, through July 13, 2023 (closed Monday 6/19, and Tuesday, 7/4)
Breakfast: 9:15 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
Lunch: 12:10 p.m. until 12:45 p.m.
Fairview Elementary Cafeteria (Monday – Thursday)
Enter at Door 12 – June 5, 2023, through June 29, 2023 (closed Monday 6/19)
Breakfast: 9:15 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
Lunch: 1:45 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.
Per state regulations, meals will need to be consumed on-site this year.
