BEDFORD – The North Lawrence Community Schools board voted on Thursday to approve an out-of-state field trip near the end of next school year for 5th and 6th-grade students, sending them to the nation’s capital to explore historic sights.
No official dates for the trip were given, though the date range options are March 4 – March 26, 2024, April 2 – April 16, 2024, and May 18 – June 24, 2024, with the trip beginning on a Saturday, with students returning home on Monday.
The proposed itinerary for the trip, hosted by WorldStrides includes visits to the Washington Monument, Ford’s Theatre, The Smithsonian Institution, and more.
The trip is an all-inclusive experience, which includes hotel accommodations, round-trip transportation, meals, and admission to all scheduled activities.
