Barbara Lucille (Wade) Morris, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born August 22, 1935, in Martin Co., she was the daughter of William and Marjorie (Payton) Wade. She married Chester L. Morris on September 3, 1954, and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2023.
She had been a cashier for S.S. Kresge’s and was a floral designer working in numerous flower shops. She enjoyed being a housewife, cake decorating, gardening, and traveling. She attended the Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, David Morris, and his wife, Annette, of Bedford; two daughters, Sandy Buckman, and her husband, Mike, of Bedford, and Cheryl Concannon and her husband, Phil, of Owensville; grandchildren, Geoff Morris and his wife, Erika, of Bloomington, Michelle Hartman, and her husband, Andrew, of Bloomington, Brandy Bell, and her husband, Jamie, of Martinsville, Jayme Buckman, of Bedford, Chelsie Buckman, of Ft. Collins, CO, Michael Walls and his wife, Christina, of Iowa, and Chris Walls and his wife, Angela, of Owensville; twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Carl and Paul Wade, and William Kenneth Wade (in infancy).
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Rick Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
