BEDFORD – On Monday at 2:15 p.m. Bedford Police officers responded to a report to a report of a physical domestic fight on 12th Street.
When police arrived they found two people in the backyard.
The woman told police on the way back from Aldi’s she and the 16-year-old male began arguing over some of the teen’s friends. When they got home the woman attempted to take the teen’s phone to see who he had been talking to. This upset the teen and he placed his hand around the woman’s throat and applied pressure. She started to remove his hand from her throat and that is when he smacked her on the left side of the face.
The woman requested to file charges.
The teen was detained and transported to the police department and juvenile probation was contacted. The teen was issued a summons to appear in court on May 31, at 9 a.m. on charges of strangulation and domestic battery. The teen was then released to his parents.
