SAINT CROIX – On May 23, at 10:49 a.m., the Perry County Sheriff’s Office received a call about two missing juveniles in a rural area.
The Indiana State Police were contacted to assist with the search. A five-year-old female and a three-year-old male had left the area of a home located near a heavily wooded area on Orchid Road in St. Croix.
Multiple law enforcement agencies from Southern Indiana, volunteer firefighters, K-9 units from several out-of-state agencies, an Indiana State Police helicopter, and local volunteers responded to the area to search for the missing children. At approximately 12:51 p.m., the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and search and rescue personnel located the male juvenile in a heavily wooded area.
At approximately 1:51 p.m. the female juvenile was located in a heavily wooded area by State Troopers. Both children were treated by EMS personnel and were released to their parents.
This coordinated effort by multiple agencies resulted in the children being located safely and being reunited with their parents.
