Connie S. Murphy, 75, of Bedford passed away on May 24, 2023.
Born on August 20, 1947, she was the daughter of Erie and Knoxie (Hughes) Terrell. She married Anthony “Pat” Murphy, and he preceded her in death.
Connie was a devoted Christian. She enjoyed mowing grass, working outside, and playing games. She loved to decorate and was a meticulous housekeeper. She had a passion for antiques and primitives. One of her favorite things to do was to go dancing and to listen to her brother, Gary, sing and play music.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, Mark (Tammy) Murphy and Pat (Melissa) Murphy; 11 grandchildren, Charlie (Trisha) Murphy, Kayla Murphy, Emily (Tanner) Thimling, Erin (Adam) Pemberton, Katie (Bryton) Wright, Nikki (Jerade) Fugate, Connor (Rachel) Sosh, Ian (Molly) Murphy, Jacob Murphy, and Andrew Murphy; 17 great-grandchildren, Dakota, Arya, Gabriel, Elora, Olivia, Owen, Colby, Remington, Brayton, Amara, Tatum, Luna, Finley, Naomi, Charley, Colt, and one on the way; one brother, Gary Terrell; three sisters, Geraldine Gains, Sharon Ratliff, Marcia Canada, and several nieces and nephews. She spent the last several years with her companion, Kenny Dalton.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Matthew; grandson, Landon; three sisters, Catherine Walls, Helen Deckard, and Rita Henderson; and two brothers, Vernie and Wilbert Terrell.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.s on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at The Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, also at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
