MONTGOMERY – Bedford North Lawrence completed the regular season by finishing fifth in the Washington Invitational during boys high school golf action at Country Oaks on Saturday.
The Stars carded a team total of 328. Jasper won the 16-team event with 299, followed by Evansville Memorial (310), Castle (311) and Vincennes Lincoln (323).
Jett Jones paced BNL with a 74 that included three birdies (holes 1, 9 and 13). He finished third as an individual. Colton Staggs added a 78 (with a birdie on the first) for BNL. Tyler Bellush (88) and Houston Corbin (88) capped the scoring for the Stars.
Evansville Memorial’s Thomas Broshears was the medalist with a 4-under 68, while Jasper’s Caleb Schnarr carded a 72.
BNL will return to action in the IHSAA sectional at Cascades on June 5. The top three teams, and the top three individuals who are not members of qualifying teams, will advance to the regional.
