Loretta Renee “Lori” Lankford, 47, of Orleans, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at the University of Louisville Health Hospital.
Born May 26, 1976, in Salem, she was the daughter of Robert Preston and Geneva Jewel (Wright) Slayton. Lori married Danny Joe Lankford on November 5, 2018, and he survives.
Lori worked as a machine operator at General Motors. She loved animals; especially horses and dogs. Lori enjoyed vacations of traveling and camping.
Surviving are her husband, Danny Joe Lankford of Orleans; children, Ashley Jo Mosier of Mitchell, Braxton Jay Porter of Mitchell, and Katie Marie Lankford of Bloomington; siblings, Marcella Sizemore of Oolitic and Robin (Johnny) Knight of Mitchell; and parents, Robert Preston Slayton and Geneva Jewel Slayton, both of Mitchell.
The funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Kenny Sanders and Emmet Dalton officiating. Cremation to follow.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
