BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence senior Annie Waggoner and sophomore Ava Ratliff were named to the Class 4A-3A All-State First Team by the Softball Coaches Association of Indiana.
Waggoner was also named to the 2023 SCAI All-Star team.
Ratliff, one of the premier sluggers and catchers in the nation, led the state in home runs with 22 while batting .538 with 53 RBIs. She set school records for home runs, hits (57), doubles (16) and RBIs as the Stars went 24-8. She already ranks among the top 10 in career home runs with 43.
Waggoner, an Indiana State recruit, went 15-5 in the circle this season and set school career records for wins (55) and strikeouts (569). She also hit .371 with 5 homers and 28 RBIs.
