BLOOMINGTON — Indiana University alumni can cast a ballot in the Board of Trustees election from June 1 through 10 a.m. June 30. Voting is open to any IU degree holder.
Trustee Donna Spears is running for reelection.
Trustee Donna Spears of Richmond, Indiana, is running for reelection. Spears is the only candidate on the ballot.
First elected to the board in 2018, Spears received her associate degree in 1978, a bachelor’s degree in 1979, and a Master of Public Administration in 1981, all from IU. She is an associate broker for Coldwell Banker Lingle.
In accordance with state law, the dean of University Libraries manages the trustee election with assistance from the IU Alumni Association. IU alumni elect three of the nine members of the IU Board of Trustees, with each serving a three-year term. Indiana’s governor appoints the remaining six trustees, including one student trustee.
The winner of the election will begin a three-year term on July 1, immediately following the election.
