BEDFORD – An Oolitic man was arrested on Saturday after a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Central Dispatched received information about an accident on US 50 West and Blue Springs Cavern Road.
When police arrived, they found 53-year-old Michael Perry was intoxicated.
Police say Perry failed several field sobriety tests.
Perry told officers he had “drank heavily on Friday night”.
A preliminary breath test showed Perry was intoxicated with a blood-alcohol level of 0.26 percent.
He was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital for a blood draw. Those results are pending
Perry was detained on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, OWI endangerment, reckless driving, and violating specialized driving privileges and he was transported to jail.
