BEDFORD – Lawrence County 4-H is excited to announce our 2023 Project Workshops. These workshops will provide unique experiences for participants to learn more about creating successful projects. There are new hobbies and skills available for everyone to explore.
There is still time to join 4-H if these are of interest to you.
Details about each workshop will be listed below:
Poster Building – This workshop will be held for youth of all ages to learn how to create a successful poster project. One free poster board will be provided for each participant. This workshop will be held at the Purdue Extension-Lawrence County office on June 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Beginner Electric – Calling youth of all ages to come to learn about how electricity works. Participants will practice with Snap Circuit boards to experience electricity first-hand. This workshop will be held on June 15 at the Purdue Extension-Lawrence County office, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Entomology – Come to this workshop to learn from an Indiana State Fair competitor about the 4-H Entomology Project. Participants must be in grades 3-12 and will learn about catching, identifying, and displaying their insects. This workshop will take place on June 17 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. and will be held at Avoca Park.
Photography – This Photography Project Workshop will provide participants in grades 3-12 with the
opportunity to develop proper photography skills from a professional photographer, Kortni Peek of Timeless Images. On June 20, there will be an educational session from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., followed by application time from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Purdue Extension-Lawrence County office.
Canvas Painting – This Canvas Painting Project Workshop will give participants in grades 3-8 the opportunity to hone their fine arts skills by painting with Tink’s Fine Arts. This workshop will be held on June 26 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Purdue Extension-Lawrence County Office.
Beginner Crochet – Calling all youth in grades 3-12 to join this crochet class for beginners to get a head start on learning the crochet basics. Participants will learn about proper crochet techniques, learn about basic crochet stitches, and even get started on their first crochet project! This workshop will be held on July 3 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Purdue Extension-Lawrence County office.
