I-69 crash claims life of Westland man

GRANT CO. – On June 9, at approximately 4:18 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, and the Gas City Police Department responded to an injury-involved crash on I-69 southbound near the 263-mile-marker in which a Westland, MI, man died.

The preliminary crash investigation by Senior Trooper AJ Coffee revealed that Taulant Qose, 45, Westland, MI, was driving a 2018 VOLVO Semi traveling southbound on I-69, approaching the 263 mile-marker. For an undetermined reason, the VOLVO rear-ended a 1996 Peterbilt Semi driven by Michael Jordan, 48, Wolcott, IN.

Qose was pronounced deceased at the crash scene by the Grant County Coroner’s Office. Jordan was transported via ambulance to a local hospital in stable condition.

This is an ongoing investigation. At this time, neither the consumption of alcoholic beverages nor narcotics is suspected of contributing to this crash. Notification to the family of the deceased has been made.
