Bedford Plan Commission sends U Street subdivision to public hearing

BEDFORD – During a meeting on Tuesday, the Bedford Plan Commission voted to send a request from Jay Nelson to subdivide his 8.48-acre lot on U Street, formerly owned by Southland Church of Christ, into a housing subdivision.

If approved, the subdivision will be home to 30-40 houses and will feature streets with sidewalks and a two-foot roll curb, a playground area with a shelter house and a drainage pond, according to Travis Norman of TNG, who spoke on behalf of the proposal at the meeting.

Homes constructed in the subdivision will range from $200,000-299,000 in price, with buyers able to choose between an anticipated four different three-bedroom floor plans.

The public hearing will be held during the commission’s July meeting.
