SCOTT COUNTY — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc. plans to close U.S. 31 at Hutto Creek on or after Tuesday, June 20, for a deck overlay project. The bridge is located one-half mile south of S.R. 256 near Austin.
U.S. 31 is expected to remain closed for up to ten days, depending upon weather and other factors. The official detour route will follow S.R. 256, I-65, and S.R. 56.
The contract was awarded to Dave O’Mara in January for $476,000. The project also includes an additional bridge project on S.R. 7 in Jennings County. INDOT urges drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
