JASPER – Earlier today, Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter promoted Master Trooper Patrick Stinson from the Jasper District to serve as Detective at the Jasper District.
Master Trooper Patrick Stinson, a Crawford County native, and 15-year veteran, graduated from the 68th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy on December 21st, 2007. Upon graduating from the recruit academy Trooper Stinson was assigned to the Sellersburg Post where he has served for 11 years. He transferred to the Jasper District in 2018. While at Jasper he served on the All Crimes Policing team. His primary function was fugitive apprehension. In October 2022, Trooper Stinson was temporarily assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division as a Detective.
During his career, Trooper Stinson has received numerous awards and is highly decorated for his commitment to the citizens of Indiana.
Awards
From 2009 – 2016 Trooper Stinson was recognized multiple times for his DUI enforcement.
Trooper Stinson currently has more than 1,500 Operating While Intoxicated arrests in his career.
In 2011 Trooper Stinson received the Silver Star award for saving a man from a burning vehicle.
The Silver Star has been awarded to less than 60 troopers since 1933.
