First Sergeant Miller and Trooper Boling graduated from IMPD Leadership Academy

JASPER – On June 16, 2023, First Sergeant Dana Miller, and Trooper Teresa Bowling, from the Indiana State Police Jasper District, graduated from the IMPD Leadership Academy.

The IMPD Leadership Academy is a 4-week, 160-hour classroom instruction leadership course requiring college-level academic ability, which includes substantial reading and writing assignments, computer exercises, essay exams, and a final thesis at the end of the course. The course is designed to develop critical skills and management concepts.

Trooper Dana Miller

First Sergeant Miller began her ISP career in 1999 and was assigned as a road trooper with the Versailles District. She transferred to the Jasper District in 2001 and continued her patrol assignment in Martin/Daviess Counties. Miller was promoted to Detective in 2003 and again promoted to a Sergeant position as a Crime Scene Investigator in 2009. In 2022, Sergeant Miller advanced her career and was promoted to First Sergeant, Crime Scene Investigation Field Supervisor of Area III, including Bloomington, Jasper, and Evansville Districts. First Sergeant Miller attained her master’s degree in criminal justice administration from Purdue University-Global in 2019. She resides in Martin County with her husband, ISP Master Trooper Ken Miller, and daughter.

Trooper Teresa Bowling

Trooper Bowling began her ISP career in 2018 and was assigned as a road trooper with the Jasper District. Trooper Bowling is a DRE Instructor, SFST Instructor, Hostage Crisis Negotiator, 2020 Trooper of the District, Field Training Officer (FTO), and Background Investigator. Trooper Bowling attained her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology from the University of Southern Indiana. Trooper Bowling resides in Dubois County. Trooper Bowling is temporally assigned to the training division and assigned as a counselor for the 84th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy.
