BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on Monday, June 19th when Bedford Police officers responded to an apartment in the 3000 block of Ted Jones Drive after a report of a verbal dispute.
When police arrived they could hear yelling coming from inside the apartment. An officer knocked on the door and a woman yelled for officers to enter but the door was locked.
A short time later 52-year-old Troy Eads answered the door and stepped outside.
The female remained inside screaming Eads had been hurting her.
Officers then attempted to detain Eads, who pulled away and had to be placed against a wall where he continued to struggle with officers. He was finally handcuffed and escorted to a police car.
Police learned there was an active protective order in place against Eads from being in contact with the woman.
The woman told police she and Eads had gotten into a verbal argument that became physical. Eads allegedly threw the woman on the ground and struck her in the nose. Police say there were no visible injuries. The woman refused to file charges.
Eads was arrested on charges of invasion of privacy for violating the protective order and resisting arrest.
Once at the jail, Eads had to be forcefully escorted into the building.
