City of Bloomington seeks local input on climate change and social vulnerability

BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington’s Department of Economic and Sustainable Development (the City), invites community members to participate in a survey to gain valuable insights regarding climate change concerns and social vulnerabilities.

The survey is a vital part of our ongoing efforts to update the comprehensive Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment that was completed in 2020.

As a city committed to environmental sustainability and the well-being of its residents, understanding and addressing the impacts of climate change is vital. The Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment will identify the specific vulnerabilities and risks associated with climate change in Bloomington, including extreme weather events, heat waves, and flooding. With a commitment to fostering resilience and adaption to climate change, the City works with residents, businesses, and organizations to create a sustainable and livable community.

By gathering input from community members, the City will be better able to assess the vulnerabilities within our community. The feedback will help the City develop effective strategies to enhance resilience, adapt to climate-related challenges, and prioritize the needs of the community.

Together, community members and the City can create a better Bloomington for future generations. The City appreciates those who complete the survey.
