Donald Lee Bridges, 88, of Bedford, passed away at 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Westview Nursing and Rehab.
Born June 21, 1935, in Martin County, he was the son of Wayne and Vida (Cornwell) Bridges. He was a cosmetologist and owner of Shear Magic Hair Salon and had worked for Teasers Hair Care. He was a member of the Calvary Chapel Church, Lawrence County Art Assoc., American Saddlebred Assoc. and American Quarter Horse Assoc. He enjoyed painting, playing piano, singing, and art shows.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Bridges, of Bedford; granddaughters, Jaida Manner, Nikki Wright, and Stevie Bridges; a grandson, Justin Bridges; a sister, Sherry Peck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Winfred Wayne, Ralph, Bud, and Ray Bridges; two sisters, Marie Flynn, and Elizabeth Burgess; two sons, Bruce Aaron Bridges (in infancy) and Scott Bridges.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5th in Lowder Cemetery.
