BLOOMINGTON – This Saturday is Young Artists’ and Growers’ Day at the Bloomington Community Farmers Market.
Young farmers, artists, growers, and entrepreneurs ages six to 17 will get their own booth space during this special day for kids at the Market.
Youth keep all their profits as they experience a day of running their own stands.
The Market will also be hosting other youth-oriented activities. Come out and support our youth this Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Showers Commons, 401 North Morton Street in Bloomington.
Here is a map of where youth vendors will be located. Note – Vendor position may be subject to change.
Providing entertainment on Saturday is Reid Walz.
Reid is a very enthusiastic ukulele player, singer, and actor. He enjoys listening to pop, rock, and 80s music, and participating in musical theater. He’s super excited to share his music with the crowd and hopes to see you this Saturday when he kicks off our entertainment at 9:30 a.m. on the BCFM Circular Stage.
Anna Wrasse has been writing and performing original songs since age 11 and has been playing piano since age six. She picked up the guitar at age 10 and added the violin at 14.
In addition to solo performing and writing, she has enjoyed participating in show choir and high school orchestra, studying music theory/composition, teaching violin lessons, and performing in the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. Attending college has now taken center stage, but music remains a passion in Anna’s life. Anna’s Saturday performance is from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the BCFM Circular Stage.
The JDRD Combo, a local quartet composed of high school friends, consists of Nathaniel Jimenez (piano), Elvin Debruicker (saxophone), Max Rose (bass), and Elvin Deckard (drums). They will round out the entertainment from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on the BCFM Circular Stage.
Just a reminder: even clean, well-groomed, and well-behaved animals can contaminate food and drink. To maintain a clean and healthy Market, pets are not permitted in any farm product or food vending area. (IAC 7-24-436).
In observance of Independence Day, there will be no Tuesday Farmers’ Market on July 4th at Switchyard Park.
