Lawrence County Fair kicks off Friday

BEDFORD – The young and old are ready for a week of fun and excitement as the 2023 Lawrence County Fair kicks off with the queen contest on Friday, July 7 at 6 p.m.

Many anxiously await their annual taste of fair foods like funnel cakes, ribeye steak sandwiches, tenderloins, and corn on the cob.

The fair runs from Friday, July 7 – Saturday, July 15. FREE parking and FREE admission to the fairgrounds is offered all week long.

Lesley Lodmell, Lawrence County Extension agent says the fair should be a week of excitement for the youth as 4-H has evolved into other projects besides just showing farm animals.

When you see them, be sure to encourage those that have worked hard all year on their projects and getting the animals ready for presentation.

The midway is all set up for many of your favorites, not to mention the many other booths that line the fairgrounds from the Lawrence County Cattlemen’s Association, 4-H Junior Leaders Stand, and the Fayetteville Lion’s Club.

The fair has something for everyone – and if you get too hot you can always cool off inside the Exhibition Hall with several vendors to see.
