JACKSON COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP plans to close S.R. 58 in Jackson County beginning on or after Monday, July 17, for a superstructure replacement project at the bridge over Runt Run.
The bridge is located just under a mile east of S.R. 258 near C.R. 375 W. State Road 58 is expected to reopen in late September. Traffic will be routed along the official detour, which follows S.R. 258 to S.R. 11 to I-65. County Road 375 W. will remain open to traffic on the east side of the bridge.
The existing closure on S.R. 58 at Branch Runt Run, between C.R. 900 and C.R. 950 is expected to be removed by the end of the week. Work began in April on a bridge replacement project.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
