Indiana Secretary of State appointed as NASS Committee Co-Chair During Conference in D.C

INDIANAPOLIS – Secretary of State Diego Morales was appointed as the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS), Securities Committee Co-Chair.

The Securities Committee is tasked with reviewing the actions of the North American Securities Administrators and other stakeholder organizations, including Congress and relevant federal agencies, with an interest in securities regulation by states.

“I’m honored to be selected as the NASS Securities Committee Co-Chair and to be representing the Hoosier state.  Securities is one of the four divisions my office oversees. I’m excited to work alongside this knowledgeable, bipartisan committee with leaders from across the nation,” said Secretary Diego Morales.

“It is my honor to select my colleagues to help lead the association in these critical roles.  I look forward to hearing their perspectives and valuable input on the varied issues facing NASS members,” said NASS President and Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab.

Secretary Morales attended the NASS Summer Conference in D.C.   The NASS Conference is an opportunity for Secretaries of State to meet, learn from one another, and discuss the development of public policy.

During the NASS Summer Conference, Secretary Morales was commended by Secretaries from across the country for leading a Hoosier delegation of International Election Observers in Guatemala. The bipartisan, credentialed delegation was in Guatemala last month.

Secretary Morales will serve as the NASS Securities Committee Co-Chair until the conclusion of the NASS 2024 Summer Conference.

NASS is the nation’s oldest, nonpartisan professional organization for public officials in the U.S.
