Rylan Perry
Shoal’s High School graduate and Libby’s-Ice-cream-connoisseur Rylan’s interest in dairy products start to make sense when compared to the dairy cows he shows at the Fair. In his own words, his favorite 4-H memory is “Breaking my record each year at Libby’s”. Despite his ice cream fondness, Rylan knows that it’s important to Work hard, stay busy, don’t be lazy, lead by example, and eat ice cream from Libby’s-” and there it is again.
Trey Craig
Trey hails from Mitchell High School, and has shown beef and rabbits in 4-H. He plans to go after a career in Nursing, and his most prized memory from the Lawrence County Fair was achieving his goal of winning Supreme Heifer 2 years ago. “My biggest advice for the younger 4-Hers would be to cherish every moment you have in the show ring and all of the memories you make, 10 years goes by a lot faster than you think. Make sure to thank your parents and everyone who helps you to participate in your project. Don’t get caught up in all the awards and just enjoy being able to do what you love.
William “Billy” Cline
Billy was a BNL student who showed goats in the competitions. He’s attending USI for engineering, and he values most in his years at the Lawrence County Fair his time with family and friends/ “Enjoy your time in 4-H. Don’t stress over little things.”
Trevor Hunter
Trevor graduates from Mitchell High School, and aims for a career with the Operators Union. he’s driven and hardworking, and tells future 4-H’ers “To work hard and never give up. I know some days are hard and you don’t feel like putting in the work, but it’s worth it in the end. Spend a lot of time and energy on your project so that everyone can see how hard you worked for it. “
Josie Bailey
Josie was part of the Horse and Pony club, and already plans to attend college at Coastal Carolina to study Marine Science in the fall. “4h has taught me that no matter how many times you fail. You always get back up and try again. It’s taught me how to be a leader and also work as a team at the same time. It’s also taught me honesty, resilience, and how to be brave and confident.”
Emma Crane
Emma participated in Photography, Foods, Gardening, and Gift Wrapping. She attended BNL and is going to study at Indiana University for her goal of becoming an Orthopedic nurse. She enjoyed her time in the Lawrence county 4-H fair. “My favorite 4H memory is the whole fair in general. The excitement of seeing all of the projects, meeting up with friends and enjoying a whole week of fair fun.”
Avery O’Brien
Avery is graduating from BNL, and has shown Swine in 4-H. She’s aiming to attend Ivy Tech Community college in the fall for nursing, in hopes of becoming an LD or fertility nurse. Surely she’ll be able to achieve it with this outlook: “4-H has taught me responsibility. It has shown me that putting in the work for something you truly want pays off.”
