Judy Ann VanMeter, 69, of Morgan, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Texas Health Huguley Hospital.
Born May 28, 1954, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Cecil and Louise (Howard) Keith. She married Roger D. VanMeter on December 18, 1982, and he survives.
Judy was a 1972 graduate of Mitchell High School and graduated from Indiana Business College in 1973. She worked for 37 years at Haag International Engineers. Judy loved going to casinos and gambling. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed reading Stephen King novels.
Survivors include her husband, Roger VanMeter of Morgan, Texas; daughter, Jennifer VanMeter of Morgan, Texas; and brother, Roger “Moe” (Theresa) Keith of Mitchell.
Her parents; daughter, Julie Ann VanMeter; half-brother, Lloyd Parish; and half-sister, Shirley Sowders, preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to White River Humane Society or Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.
