BEDFORD – Lawrence County Superior Court II Judge Bob Cline sentenced a Mitchell woman to 850 days in prison after her urine screen tested positive for 12 different illegal drugs including Fentanyl.
Lindsay Robinson was recently arrested in Washington County on new criminal charges including drug possession and operating a vehicle intoxicated.
Judge Cline ordered Robinson to participate in the Recovery While Incarcerated program while serving her sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Prosecutor Sam Arp II stated the sentence was Robinson’s best option for success.
“Locally our options for treating someone who is battling a Heroin or Fentanyl addiction is extremely limited,” he added. “If the addiction can be defined as a more aggressive addiction or a long-term addiction then our only real option is to utilize the Indiana Department of Corrections RWI program. In my experience with Heroin and Fentanyl cases, the defendant is at a much greater risk of dying from a drug overdose. I want to give the defendant every opportunity that I can to beat their addiction and live a happy and healthy life.”
