BEDFORD – Last night, July 26, the Lawrence County Council approved the transfer of $1,000 and $1,700 for the Surveyor’s office to cover a deficit resulting from the scale change made in the spring of 2023.
The scale change was approved to facilitate employee pay at the surveyor’s office to match those in similar government positions. These changes were approved earlier this year at the Lawrence County Council meeting on February 28.
The transfer is being made from the Cornerstone funds and will support the spring decision to put the office positions on par with the pay grade of similar positions around the state, leveling out pay differences.
