Commissioners set Road Status Advisory in Greene County due to intense heat

GREENE CO. – Due to the dangerous heat, Greene County Board of Commissioners President, Nathan Abrams has set the Greene County Road Status to Advisory.

Abrams is requesting persons limit travel to only necessary situations.

“Just as in the winter snow and ice, there are dangers in this heat especially when travel is involved. There is an increased chance of vehicle engines overheating and possible breakdowns, said Abrams. “We are requesting our populations at risk like our older citizens and the young to travel only if it is necessary.”

Being stranded in this heat puts lives at risk in a short time.

“Travel in this heat, puts a strain not only on our responders but their vehicles are subject to the same risk in this heat. Greene County has over 900 miles of county roads more than many counties which compounds the risks and stresses our responders. If you must travel, please carry a charged cell phone and water in case of a breakdown.” Abrams said.
