BLOOMINGTON — Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training course in Mooresville for the first time this fall.
The class will be held from August 22 through December 14 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The EMT training course could be free with the state’s Next Level Jobs grant for students who qualify.
EMT training at Ivy Tech is a one-course certification program that prepares graduates to sit for the licensing exam, which is required for employment as an EMT. EMTs are first responders and provide out-of-hospital emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients. They have the skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients for continued medical care.
The Ivy Tech Bloomington Paramedic Science program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
EMT training will be held at 173 Indianapolis Rd, Mooresville, Ind.
