BEDFORD – BNL students have spent hours at the high school painting their parking spaces with individual, quirky designs and bright colors.
To highlight just some of the creative designs, we have:
Friends Abbey Brown, 16, and Stella Greenwood, 15.
“it’s gonna have XOXO on it and then my initials,” said Abbey, who was just finishing the base layer of light pink.
Stella, next to her, added “The XOXO is gonna have like gold on it, too.”
Alexandria Fulk, 16, keeps out of the sun while she and her father, Jeremy Fulk, work on finishing up her parking spot’s “If you are reading this – I’m late”.
Cedar Petrie, 18, is graduating from Bedford North Lawrence in 2024, and plans to attend either cosmetology school, or get an art degree in ceramics from Vincennes University.
When asked if she was ready, she responded with an exuberant “Heck yeah! I’m ready for high school to be done, but not ready to be out of high school if that makes sense.”
The range of creativity is a sight to behold.
Kendra is in her second year at the school, but she had to redo her driver’s test and licensing process because of an unfortunate mix-up when moving schools, so she’s just now getting her own chosen parking spot.
She plans to get the primer done today and come back later for the purple and the daisies.
Kendall’s boyfriend Briexin Kline, 16, said he’s not bothered about his girlfriend hijacking his parking space, anyway. Besides the fact that it’s cute, as he says, “It doesn’t matter, my car’s gonna be parked over it.”
Drive out and see the designs for yourself if you get the chance, the creativity will surprise and delight you!
Now, courtesy of Jeremy Fulk, enjoy an aerial view from his drone of the parking lot.
“If you are reading this, I’m late” is pretty clever, and “the one where Sophie parks” is cute, but you can definitely tell where Molly and Josie park.
There is a wide variety of art pieces, from starry spots to a yellow Gameboy, Jack Skellington, the Avengers symbol, cacti, and more.
A colorful view of a beautiful parking lot and a testament to student creativity.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen, or wanted to see a SpongeBob this big, but lo and behold, he’s there.
A lot of work in progress here with tape and brooms, and kids braving direct sunlight and heat to get their pieces finished. The finished parking lot will be a sight once it’s done.
