Woman arrested after testing positive for marijuana

BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested after a Bedford Police Officer stopped her vehicle Saturday for speeding.

Kayln Tincher, 23, is facing charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, OWI, and OWI controlled substance.

Police arrested Tincher after stopping her vehicle at 7:28 p.m. after she was speeding on 5th Street.

Officer Faheem Bade reported Tincher was traveling 53 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone.

The officer caught up with Tincher on State Road 37 and followed her and witnessed her cross the fog line several times. She finally stopped just south of Main Street in Oolitic.

Police say Tincher was intoxicated and she failed several field sobriety tests.

During a search of her vehicle police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police tested Tincher’s saliva and she tested positive for marijuana. She admitted she had “smoked a bowl” that morning.

She was then transported to IU Health for a blood draw and then transported to jail.
