Kip and Whitney Schlegel, owners of Marble Hill Farm, share a love of land and livestock. For 25 years, they have cared for the animals and land atop one of the highest elevations in Monroe County. The vantage point provides clear vistas of the surrounding natural beauty and daily reminders of the Schlegels’ core value: that they are part of a thriving ecosystem, stewarding natural resources for future generations.
“For us, the land is everything, and we believe we’re obligated to leave this place better than we found it,” Kip said. “That’s a focus and real source of pride for us. We’re committed to that because there is something sacred about the land. In one sense, we don’t own this land — we’re caretakers of it — and we want to pass it on to those who share our values.”
Their farm is child-friendly and visitors are always welcome.
