BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence posted a team score of 163 during a victory over Mitchell on the West Course at Stone Crest on Thursday.
Chloe McFaddin paced the No.14 Stars with a 2-over 37. The Bluejackets did not have a complete foursome for a team score.
McFaddin birdied the first and third holes, with her only issue coming on the fourth (a triple-bogey). Kenley Craig birdied the seventh hole while posting 40, and Kinleigh Root added a 41 for BNL.
“Chloe played well today,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said. “She was pretty steady all day and put up a good score for us. Kenley and Kinleigh also had good rounds. We still have work to do across the board and room to improve, but today was a much better showing for us.
Anna Sowders carded a 44 for the Bluejackets.
The Stars will compete in the prestigious State Preview Tournament at Prairie View (site of the IHSAA state finals) on Saturday.
“I’m sure nerves will be high,” Johnston said. “We’re going into it with the mindset of being competitive, but ultimately using this weekend as another practice round in preparation for the state finals later this season.”
