BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday after receiving multiple 911 calls about his activities.
Bedford Police officers responded to 16th and Q Street at 9:05 p.m. When police arrived a female flagged them down and said a man tried to steal a statue from her neighbor’s yard, but she had made the man put it back. The woman had taken a photo of the man with the statue in his hand.
Police recognized the man as 26-year-old Dustin Teague. He was last seen walking toward the basketball courts. En route to the basketball courts officers were flagged down by a male that stated a man had jumped the fence surrounding the city pool. The pool was closed and all the gates were locked.
Officers then saw Teague go down the water slide and into the pool. He was ordered to exit the pool. He came back to the fence and climbed over. He was then detained.
Police say Teague was fidgety and his speech was slurred and rapid. He admitted to having ingested meth.
While walking Teague to the police vehicle, he forcibly pulled away from the officers and kicked the officer in the leg. He was then taken to the ground and placed in leg restraints.
He had to be carried to the police vehicle and continued to struggle then slipped from the officers’ hands and fell to the ground. He continued to be uncooperative and stated he was not going to tell the police about meth dealers.
Teague was arrested on charges of resisting arrest by force, public intoxication by drugs, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and battery against a police officer.
