CRANE – The leadership of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) will be formally and traditionally transferred during a Change of Command Ceremony on Wednesday, August 16, at 10:30 a.m.
Captain Rex Boonyobhas, USN, will accept command of NSWC Crane from Captain Thomas Duncan McKay, USN who is retiring from military service after 27 years in the Navy.
Guest speakers include Captain Thomas Dickinson, USN, Commander of NAVSEA Warfare Centers, Captain Franklin Gasperetti, USN, Production Resources Officer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and Dr. Angie Lewis, SES, Technical Director at NSWC Crane.
NSWC Crane is the largest tenant command located on Naval Support Activity Crane (NSA Crane) with approximately 3800 civilian employees. NSWC Crane is one of the largest employers in southwestern Indiana and has a $3 billion dollar business base. NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) with focus areas on Strategic Missions, Expeditionary Warfare, and Electronic Warfare.
