SCOTTSBURG – Bedford North Lawrence opened the 2023 campaign with a dominating 4-0 victory over Scottsburg during boys high school soccer action on Tuesday.
The Stars owned a 20-1 advantage in shots and scored twice in each half.
“We controlled the game,” BNL coach Ryan Otis said. “Scottsburg sat back in a deep zone, which made it frustrating. But we had good possession and created lots of chances. We need to work on finishing those opportunities.”
BNL started with a goal by J.D. Miskuf (off an Isaiah Conner assist), then took a two-goal lead when Adriano Sullivan connected (via another Conner pass). In the second half, the Stars added goals by Austin Harms (from Scotty Tipton) and J.D. Russell (via Jayden Duke).
“We can work on maintaining intensity throughout the game, crisper passes and our first touch,” Otis said. “I’m happy with the result and how the boys played for the first game of the year.”
BNL will host Mitchell in the home opener on Thursday.
